Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band is the non-auditioned band in the high school band department.  Admission is contingent on successful completion of the 8th Grade Band and permission of the instructor.  Emphasis is on continued development of playing fundamentals, with the goal of preparing every student for the demands of the next band level.  The band plays music of a grade 3-4 level (out of 6), though more advanced selections are occasionally selected when ensemble ability merits.  The Symphonic Band performs at the fall, winter, and spring band concerts, as well as the ISSMA District Festival in April.  All students participate in a year-round chamber music program, with rehearsals happening weekly during band time.
