Summer Band

West Lafayette Bands offers a Summer Band program for all 4th-8th grade band students. Beginning band is for any student who is starting a band instrument and will be joining the school’s beginning band program this Fall. We cannot overemphasize the importance of attending for students to be prepared for band this fall! The Advanced Band is for students who have completed 2 or more years of band. The Intermediate Band is open to students with 1 or more years of playing. We also have a neat tradition of giving older students (2 or more years) the ability to learn a secondary instrument in intermediate. To do this, the student MUST also be enrolled in Advanced Band on their primary instrument (no extra cost to do this!).

Rehearsals begin on Monday, June 3 and will be every weekday through June 20, 12:30-2:00 pm each day. All rehearsals take place in the WL high school band room and there will be a concert on Thursday, June 20 to showcase all of the summer programs. Even if your child has to miss a portion of the camp due to vacations, other camps, etc, the benefits of attending part time will still outweigh no attending at all.
