Summer Band
June 6, 2022 - June 24, 2022
This year WLCSC will offer three summer bands for students in Elementary and Junior High School. The Advanced Band includes students who have completed at least two years of band. The Intermediate Band serves the students who just completed their first year of playing or older students who would like to learn a secondary instrument. Lastly, the Beginning Band is for students who are just starting out in band. Summer band rehearsals will begin on Monday, June 6th and will be every weekday through June 23rd. All rehearsals take place in the high school band room and there will be a concert on Thursday, June 23rd to showcase all of the bands, as well as the orchestras which will be held in the West Lafayette gymnasium. The rehearsal times are:
- 9:30-11:00AM Beginning Band
- 11:00-12:30PM Intermediate Band
- 12:30-2:00PM Advanced Band
On Friday, June 24th there will be an option for students to go to Indiana Beach. The fee for participation in the summer band program is $100 per student. This covers the purchase of music and the salaries of the directors. If your child is interested in taking part in Summer Band, please return the attached form to Mr. Pettit or Mr. Daning by Friday, May 20th. A student is not officially registered for the summer band program until the form is turned in and the payment is received.
