Alivia Brooks, Assistant Band Director
Alivia Brooks is the Assistant Band Director of West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School. Mrs. Brooks is from Whiting, IN, and she now lives in Lafayette with her husband, Jacob. She recently graduated from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Brooks’s main instrument is flute, and she studied with Mary-Christine Stingley during her time at VanderCook. Mrs. Brooks enjoyed working with outreach programs during her time in college, and she helped start the outreach program, “One City.” One City provided free jazz instruction and instruments to children in the Bronzeville Community. Mrs. Brooks was also involved in her collegiate NAfME chapter where she served as the Undergraduate Representative. Mrs. Brooks has performed at the Midwest Clinic with VanderCook’s Symphonic Band for the past three years, and she has performed in her college’s jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, Honors Chamber ensemble, concert choir, and philharmonic orchestra. Mrs. Brooks is honored to work with the students and parents of the West Lafayette Band Department!
